Simon holds a Master's degree in Political Science from Central European University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich. In his research assistantships he addressed societal issues, including the dimensions of political representation and the discrimination of Roma in Hungary's rental market. His work is characterised by an effective combination of computer science methods and data analysis with social sciences. His thesis, which examined the varying approaches to short-term rental regulation across Europe, earned him the Best Thesis Award in his graduating class.
