Michael Imre has a Pre-Doc Position at the Department of Government since January 2023 within the project "Why this abundance of constitutional law in Austria?". He studied Political Science (BA, MA) and Journalism and Communication Science (Bakk.phil) at the University of Vienna. Since 2018, he has been pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim.

Michael Imre previously worked as a student assistant as well as a teaching assistant at the Department of Government (2014-2018) and as a research assistant at the University of Mannheim (2019-2022) and Heidelberg University (2021-2022). His research interests include parties and party competition, intra-party politics, and (coalition) governments.
