Marvin Stecker is a researcher in the MULTIREP project at the Department of Government. In his PhD research in the Computational Communication Science Lab at the University of Vienna, he focuses on the role of social group identities in political communication. He uses computational methods to examine media debates and party competition, and also works on methodological questions.

He previously worked on the AUTHLIB project on illiberal challenges to democracy, the OPTED project on infrastructures for political text analysis, and its successor, the infrastructure MEDem. He also contributed to the Austrian National Election Study.
