Matthias Kaltenegger is a postdoctoral researcher with the project “Party Congress Politics” (FWF; P33596). His research focuses on intra-party politics and political elites. In particular, his work engages with the formation of intra-party preferences, with intra-party power and with their consequences for political competition.
Matthias completed his PhD at the University of Vienna in 2023. Before that, he was a DOC-Fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and a pre-doctoral researcher at the Department of Government.
