Fernando De la Cuesta currently holds the position of University Assistant/Postdoc in the Department of Government since October 2023. Previously, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University Complutense Madrid, and he completed his P.h.D. thesis at University Carlos III Madrid, investigating how exposure to voting modifies electoral behavior and how unequal access to public services leads to the emergence of new political parties and the far right.


Additionally, he earned his M.A. in Social Sciences from the Juan March-Carlos III Institute and an M.A. in Geographic Information System from University Complutense Madrid. His research interests revolve around political economy and political geography, with a particular focus on voting behavior, public goods provision, and historical legacies.
