Research Associate (prae doc)
I am a doctoral candidate in the Social Sciences at the University of Vienna and pre-doc researcher with the FWF-funded project “Party Congress Politics” (P 33596) at the Department of Government.
I studied political science at the University of Vienna and obtained my Master’s Degree in 2015. From 2010 to 2015, I worked as a research assistant for the Austrian National Election Study (AUTNES, Supply Side). After 2015, I continued my affiliation with AUTNES as a pre-doc researcher.
I started my dissertation project “Party Congresses in Austria” in 2017 as a DOC-fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), studying various aspects of intra-party politics based on a comprehensive collection of party congress related documents of Austrian parties (1945-present). In particular, my research aims to contribute new insights on the formation of intra-party preferences, on the development of intra-party decision-making as well as intra-party democracy, and on the societal impact of parties’ internal dynamics. Since October 2020, I study these and other research questions as part of the project “Party Congress Politics”, which is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
Research interests: comparative politics, party competition, party organization, intra-party politics, intra-party democracy, quantitative text analysis
